About Little Scholars

Hi, I’m Kaye, the tutor behind Little Scholars Tutoring! For the past few years, I’ve worked as an 11+ tutor at a well-known tutoring company, and I’ve truly loved every moment of it. Now, I’m bringing that same passion and experience to my own warm and welcoming setup at home.

Before this, I taught at Ravensthorpe's Diamond Wood Academy and Holy Trinity in Ossett. I was also a foster carer for a number of years. I’ve got a first-class honours degree in English Language and Literature, along with a PGDE in Education.

My approach to tutoring is one that focuses on the individual child: tailoring lessons to their unique needs. It’s not just about achieving great results (though that’s certainly part of it!) – it’s about fostering steady progress every step of the way.

I specialise in primary education for children aged 3-12, with a focus on key areas like 11+ exam preparation (including the Heckmondwike Grammar School entrance exam) and Year 6 SATs in Maths and English. Whether it’s boosting confidence or excelling in exams, I’m here to help your child unlock their full potential in every subject.

All tutoring sessions take place in my cosy tutoring room in Earlsheaton, Dewsbury. I offer small group sessions – ideal for children who need a little extra support, targeted exam preparation, or ongoing guidance. Feel free to call me to discuss your child's needs and to book a free assessment -you could even take advantage of our opening offers!

Proudly Supporting Martin House Children's Hospice

When I set up Little Scholars Tutoring, I knew from the outset that I wanted to support a local charity while building up my business. Martin House Children's Hospice is a special one: it provides family led care for children with life-shortening conditions.

The hospice offers a safe haven where children, young people, and their families can find rest, support, and practical assistance during challenging times.

Recently, the charity achieved an incredible milestone with its 'Raise the Roof' campaign, raising over £400,000 in just 36 hours. These funds contribute to a £21.9 million redevelopment project aimed at transforming the hospice.

The project includes plans for a dedicated teenage zone, a hydrotherapy pool, and an education centre—creating a space that will make a lasting difference for so many families.

Little Scholars Tutoring is fundraising for Martin House through local events and donating part of our lesson fees. Check back often for updates on our locations and fundraising total!
