Hi, I’m Kaye!
I’m a qualified teacher and the tutor behind Little Scholars Tutoring.
Before starting Little Scholars, I taught in primary schools and spent several years tutoring and coordinating 11+ preparation for a well-known tutoring company. I also spent many years as a foster carer, giving me a wealth of experience supporting children with different personalities, abilities and learning needs.
I hold a First-Class Honours degree in English Language and Literature and a PGDE in Education.
My approach
For me, tutoring is about much more than achieving good results. Every child is different, so I tailor my teaching to the individual — building skills, filling gaps and, importantly, developing confidence.
I want children to feel comfortable enough to have a go, make mistakes and discover that learning can actually be enjoyable.
How I can help
I specialise in Primary English and Maths, including phonics and early reading, as well as Year 6 SATs and 11+ preparation, including the Heckmondwike Grammar School entrance exam.
I also provide KS3 and GCSE Maths support, alongside learning opportunities for home-educated children.
Tuition is available in person from my dedicated tutoring room in Earlsheaton, Dewsbury, and online for children across the UK and internationally.
Sessions are friendly, supportive and tailored to each learner, whether your child needs help catching up, greater confidence, exam preparation or simply an extra challenge.
